The Guyana/Suriname Ferry Service has ben suspended until further notice, according to a statement from the management of the service.
The statement indicated that the M.V. Canawaima will be out of operation which is due to mechanical failure of the second engine onboard vessel.
The management of the critical crossing between Guyana and Suriname said it is working assiduously to have the issues rectified in order to resume service between Guyana and Suriname soon.
The ferry service serves as a major link not just for persons traveling between the two countries, but also for businesses from the two countries that trade with each other.
