A Guyanese man was killed and another critically injured in a shooting incident in San Fernando, Trinidad on Monday.

The dead man was identified as Guyanese national Kemraj Persad, 30, a construction worker, of Hummingbird Avenue, Duncan Village.

According to a report in the Trinidad Guardian, Eyewitnesses said Persad, and another man identified as Sean Boodoo, and the shooter were having drinks and liming at an apartment when an argument broke out and the suspect shot the two men.

Boodoo, who also lived at the same apartment, was shot in the chest and was listed in critical condition in San Fernando General Hospital last night.

Another tenant, Kumar Shivprashad, pleaded for financial help to send Persad’s body back to Guyana as he came from a poor family.
