A Police Constable could find himself before the Court for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
A Police statement indicated that Police Constable Lyle of the Den Amstel Police Station was driving an All-Terrain Vehicle along the Den Amstel Public Road on Christmas Day when he crashed into a pedestrian.
The pedestrian, 45-year-old Shawn Peters was taken to a hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and discharged.
The Police Constable claimed that the ATV developed some problems as he was driving it and he lost control.
However, a breathalyzer test found that his blood alcohol level was above the legal limit.
An investigation has been launched.
