Linden Man kills reputed wife and stabs daughter in early morning rage

Residents in the mining town of Linden are in a state of shock as a result of an early morning murder in the community.

Dead is 34-year-old Leolynn Sullivan. She was brutally stabbed to death by her 51-year-old reputed husband, Lawrence Carter.

According to Police reports, the man brutally stabbed the woman to death and injured her young daughter before attempting to take his own life, by slashing himself. He was taken to the Mackenzie Hospital where doctors are treating him and where he remains under police guard.

The dead woman’s daughter is hospitalized with stab wounds to her neck. The 18-year-old attempted to intervene as the man was brutally stabbing her mother. A 15-year-old daughter ran away from the house during the incident

News Source understands that the man and his reputed wife got into an early morning argument at their Phase 1 B Wisroc house after she returned home around 2 o’ clock this morning. She reportedly left the home for Georgetown since Friday to transact business for her vending operation and never made contact with the husband throughout weekend.

The man told investigators that he confronted his wife when she arrived home this morning about her weekend out and the two got into a heated argument. He accused her of being unfaithful to him and questioned several photographs of her in a compromising position with another man. The photographs were reportedly found stashed in her daughter’s phone.

The woman was stabbed 21 times to the body. When the two daughters attempted to intervene, the suspect turned his wrath on them. The younger daughter escaped while the older one was stabbed and is in a critical condition.

One of the daughters said the 51-year-old construction worker then stabbed himself in an attempt to take his own life, but he claims that he was stabbed by the older daughter.

Police investigators said he appears to be out of any danger with his injuries.

A probe is currently underway.
