The Coast Guard of the Guyana Defence Force is this evening heading out in the Atlantic Ocean to begin investigations into the discovery of the lifeless body of a man and his dog on a French yacht which is located in Guyana’s exclusive economic zone.
Late last evening, local maritime officials and officials at the Light House received information from an oil tanker in the area that the yacht which has the French flag, was spotted adrift in the Atlantic Ocean with the body of the man suspected to be the sailor.
News Source understands that the yacht was spotted today about 200 miles offshore Guyana. An aerial surveillance was done and Guyana’s Coast Guard was dispatched to the area to begin investigations and bring the yacht and the body ashore.
Sources have indicated to News Source that it is still too early to determine a cause of death.
