An argument in a Route 32 mini-bus over the closing of a window turned deadly on Saturday evening when a passenger whipped out his firearm and shot another passenger dead because the man refused to close the bus window during rainfall.
The dead man is still to be identified while his assailant is on the run and has not been identified also.
The bus was heading east on the Demerara Harbour Bridge just after 6:00pm on Saturday when the two men got into an argument over the window of the bus being open.
According to another passenger, the now dead man was sitting in the seat behind the driver while the assailant was sitting in the seat just behind him. The rain was falling and was blowing into the mini-bus when the suspect told the other man that he should close the window.
The man refused and the two got into a heated row. In an effort to end the argument, the driver stopped the mini-bus threatening to put both men off, however, they calmed down until the bus was moving again and the suspect made another request for the man to close the window.
When the man refused again, the suspect took out his firearm and shot the man at point blank range and fired another shot in the mini-bus. The 2nd shot injured another passenger and the armed man calmly walked out of the bus and continued his journey by walking over the rest of the bridge.
Police investigators are now reviewing surveillance video of the bridge in an effort to identify the mini-bus killer.
