Man shot outside GT&T office on Church Street

A 39-year-old man is nursing multiple gunshot wounds after he was shot while trying to rush to his wife’s aid on Church Street, just outside the GT&T office on Thursday afternoon.

According to reports, the man Sunil Ramesh was parking his mini-bus while his wife was standing just outside the bus, giving him directions.

The woman said while she was waiting on her husband to exit the vehicle, she felt something being braced to her neck, when she looked around, a man was standing behind her with a gun to her head, demanding that she hand over her bag.

He grabbed the bag from the woman and as her husband exited the bus to rush to her aid, the gunman fired a number of shots in the man’s directions. He was hit at least three times to the body and collapsed.

The gunman escaped on a motorcycle which was parked a short distance away. The injured man was rushed to a private hospital where he was hurried in to surgery. Police investigators have launched a probe.
