Miner and security guard found murdered at Blackwater mining camp

Police investigators have traveled to the Blackwater mining area in Region 7 to probe the murder of a general manager for a gold mining operation and a security guard.

The bodies of the two men and a dog that was also killed were found this morning. The General Manager has been identified as Richard Bachan. The only name given for the security guard is Niles.

One of the men was found lying in a hammock while the other one was found on a makeshift bed.

Both bodies were found with chop wounds and other injuries.

Investigators suspect that the men might have been attacked in their sleep and were therefore unable to put up a fight.

There are also reports that a high-powered gun that belonged to the security guard is missing.

The mining operation is owned by Georgetown resident, Kevin Faerber. He was informed of the double murder early this morning and immediately contacted the Police.

The bodies were discovered by a group of miners who also worked at the mining camp but live in another area.

Police investigators have not named any suspects. News Source understands that a few months ago there was an attack on the same mining camp by men suspected to be from a Venezuelan gang. That incident is still under probe.
