According to a statement from CANU, Michael Ude who provided a Golden Grove, East Bank Demerara address was arrested at the Post Office after CANU agents during a search of items he was sending to the United States uncovered 1.1 pounds of cocaine among the items.

Two Nigerian nationals who live in Guyana, have landed in the custody of the Customs Anti Narcotics Unit after they reportedly attempted to ship a quantity of cocaine to the United States through the post office.

The two men, 33-year-old Michael Emmanuel Ude and 26-year-old Gift Obioha were held on Wednesday.

According to a statement from CANU, Michael Ude who provided a Golden Grove, East Bank Demerara address was arrested at the Post Office after CANU agents during a search of items he was sending to the United States uncovered 1.1 pounds of cocaine among the items.

CANU said its investigations led to the arrest of the other Nigerian national who lives at Laing Avenue.

Both men were told of the offence and have been booked to appear in Court as early as today.

CANU agents have been stepping up their drug eradication efforts across the country, nabbing several drug traffickers.
