Opposition MP meets with US Embassy officials over destruction of PNC Region Nine Office

Maintaining that the destruction of the party’s Region Nine Office was a deliberate act, the People’s National Congress Reform has started to engage the diplomatic community on the latest political development in the country.

Opposition Member of Parliament Amanza Walton-Desir who holds responsibility for Foreign Relations for the opposition met on Thursday with officials of the US Embassy on the issue.

During the meeting, the party said she registered the party’s anger and disgust at the recent “state sanctioned “demolition of the PNCR office in Lethem.

The PNC said MP Walton-Desir conveyed to the Diplomatic Community that it could not stand by and condone such “political thuggery and State sponsored terrorism” by the PPP Regime and, that the Community had a duty to require that the PPP/C Administration operate within the bounds of the law.

The party also intends to engage with other diplomatic representatives while informing CARICOM and the international community about the development.
