Regional Chairman of Region Four, Daniel Seeram was today charged and placed on $20,000 bail for threatening behaviour that was allegedly made against his father-in-law.
Mr. Seeram has denied the charge.
The Regional Chairman appeared before Magistrate Alisha George in the Sparendaam Magistrates’ Court this morning where the charge was read to him.
The Court was told that during a row at Movietowne Mall on the night of the 6th March between Seeram and his father-in-law, businessman Shaeed Hamid, Seeram allegedly used threatening language towards the man.
Both Seeram and his father-in-law filed Police reports in the matter, with the Regional Chairman telling the Police that it was his father-in-law who had made threats against him.
At the end of the Police investigation, a decision was made to only file a charge against the Regional Chairman.
In Court today, Daniel Seeram was represented by Senior Counsel Roysdale Forde. He is expected back in Court on the 21st April for the continuation of the matter.
