Three men are in the custody of the Customs Anti Narcotics Unit after a quantity of cocaine and a .40 caliber pistol with a magazine was found in a mini-bus during a CANU operation on Wednesday.

Acting on a tip-off, CANU agents intercepted the Route 32 minibus at Tuschen on the East Bank of Essequibo.

The driver and two other men who were in the bus were arrested after the search by the CANU agents uncovered 11.4 kilograms of cocaine and the weapon with ammunition.

The three men who were arrested were identified as 31-year-old Akeem Brummel, 46-year-old Gary Toney and 28-year-old Oliton Sobers. CANU said investigations into the latest bust are ongoing.
