U.S carrier, Dynamic International Airways and Guyana’s Roraima Airways are making moves to work closer together in an effort to make Guyana’s Cheddi Jagan International Airport a hub for Guyana’s neighbouring travelers.
Dynamic currently operates four weekly flights from New York to Georgetown and that schedule is expected to increase in the future.
According to Roraima Airways Managing Director, Captain Gerry Gouveia, with his airline now having the 18-seater trislander aircraft as part of its fleet and seeking to add several others, moves are being made to have Roraima offer connecting flights to neighbouring Venezuela, Brazil and Suriname for Dynamic Airways.
He explained that what the two could do is offer connecting travel to neighbouring passengers. Those coming from New York would arrive in Guyana on Dynamic Airways and board their connection to Brazil, Suriname or Venezuela in Guyana aboard Roraima Airways. Persons in those countries traveling to the U.S would also be able to make the Guyana connection to Dynamic.
Mr. Gouveia said Guyana could serve as an important hub.
He believes that the connections could be up and going within months and Dynamic will begin offering the connecting destinations on its booking packages.
Officials at Dynamic Airways have already welcomes the move as they seek to build their relationship in Guyana and across South America and the Latin American region.
