Three men were on Wednesday arraigned in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court in relation to the grenade throwing attack outside the Kaieteur News office on Saffon Street, Georgetown.
The three men, 30-year-old Janiel Howard of Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, 25-year-old Leroy Williams, of Durban Backlands and 36-year-old Alfie Garraway of Norton Street were jointly charged when they appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.
They were not required to plea to the indictable charge.
The Court heard that on the night of June 6, the three young men along with others conspired to cause an explosion at Saffon Street, Charlestown, Georgetown.
The three men were charged even as police hunt a fourth suspect.
Shemar Wilson called ‘Abdue’ is also wanted by the police for questioning in relation to the crime. Wilson is 30-years old and resides in North Sophia.
A wanted bulletin was issued for Howard and he turn himself over to the police earlier this week.
Six persons and a car were initially detained two days after the attack. Since then the police had questioned several other persons and sought extensions for those in custody.
The grenade was hurled outside the Newspaper as staffers gathered for a wake for crime journalist, Dale Andrews.
