Two dead bandits are both 22-years-old

Some of the persons who were attacked by the bandits at the family gathering, explained that they were all hanging out in the yard at the get together, when the two armed men appeared at the gate, whipped out their guns and demanded valuables after instructing everyone not to move.

Two dead bandits are both 22-years-old

The two armed bandits who were gunned down by Police on Sunday night, moments after they robbed guests of a family get together, have been identified as both 22-year-olds.

One of the bandits has been identified as wanted man Jamal Letlow aka “Gaza”. He was wanted for the October 25 robbery of Christopher Persaud at John Fernandes Access road.

The other dead man has been identified as Shaquille Fraser of Better Hope, ECD ad Lodge Housing Scheme in Georgetown.

Family members made positively identified the two bodies.

The robbery incident took place just after 9 o’ clock on Sunday night.

They grabbed cash, jewellery and a quantity of cellphones.

 But as they were making their escape by foot, a Police patrol that was in the Sheriff Street area was notified as the robbery victims raised an alarm.

The ranks cornered the two men near the New Campbellville Secondary School compound.

Several gunshots rang out, forcing persons who were nearby to run for cover.

When the gunshots ended, the two men were hauled off  to the Georgetown Hospital with gunshot injuries.

One was pronounced dead on arrival while the other died in the emergency unit. Both men bore multiple gunshot wounds to their bodies.

Police found a weapon, several cellphones, jewellery and other valuables in the possession of the two men.
