Two more youths enter guilty pleas over killing of retired Professor

At the High Court on Monday, the two accused, Nikisha Dover and Orin McRae appeared before Justice Navindra Singh and opted to enter a plea of guilty to the lesser count of manslaughter related to the killing of retired Professor Perry Mars.

Two more youths enter guilty pleas over killing of retired Professor

Almost two weeks after one of six youths charged with the murder of a retired Professor opted to plead guilty to manslaughter, two others are following her footsteps.

At the High Court on Monday, the two accused, Nikisha Dover and Orin McRae appeared before Justice Navindra Singh and opted to enter a plea of guilty to the lesser count of manslaughter related to the killing of retired Professor Perry Mars.

Justice Singh in accepting the pleas requested probation reports for the two youths. The reports will have to be handed over to the Court before July 12, when sentencing will be handed down.

The retired Professor was found dead in his Prashad Nagar home on May 12, 2016.

The man, who knew one of the teenagers, was allegedly tied up in his house and strangled while the house was ransacked for valuables.

Just over a week ago, 18-year-old Naomi Adams pleaded guilty to manslaughter, as she noted explained to the Court that she held the Professor down while he was being strangled. Her sentencing is set for next Monday.
