The University of Guyana’s School of Medicine has been fully accredited for another four years by the Caribbean Accreditation Authority for Education in Medicine and Other Health Professions (CAAM-HP).
In a statement, the University explained that the accreditation was granted after a rigorous evaluation process was completed. That process included a comprehensive site visit and review of the School’s medical education program.
The University said the CAAM-HP Board’s decision to extend accreditation supports the University’s ongoing commitment to excellence in medical education. The recognition is also seen as underscoring the School’s adherence to the highest standards for producing skilled, ethical, and competent healthcare professionals.
The Caribbean Accreditation Authority for Education in Medicine and Other Health Professions is responsible for setting and evaluating standards in medical, dental, veterinary, and other health professions across CARICOM states.
The accreditation affirms the Medical School’s dedication to educational excellence and its mission to address the region’s health challenges while supporting sustainable development, the University of Guyana said.
