Visiting US Congressman, Jonathan Jackson, met and held talks yesterday with Opposition Leader Aubrey Norton and a team from the Opposition.

News Source understands that a number of key issues were raised during the discussions, including the need for more equitable distribution of oil resources and government contracts, the plight facing teachers and other public servants and the need for local democracy to be recognised and respected.

The US Congress, who hails from Illinois, is expected to engage residents of Mocha arcadia this morning at a community meeting, to listen to their concerns, especially about the development of their community.

The Opposition has been raising a number of issues of concern on the international stage. The US Congressman is in Guyana on the invitation of President Irfaan Ali. His visit is expected to conclude today.
