A 22-year-old man from Linden, who was working as a miner at Issano Landing in Middle Mazaruni, Region 7 was found murdered on Sunday morning. He has been identified as Samuel Marciano of One Mile, Wismar in Linden.
A police report stated that Marciano was shot multiple times to his body on Sunday morning while attending a social gathering at a shop in the gold mining area. It is unclear what led to the shooting.
However, the Police said its preliminary inquiries have indicated that Marciano was shot multiple times by two known individuals.
When Police ranks arrived on the scene after being contacted, they discovered Marciano’s body with several gunshot wounds. A number of spent shells and a live round were also recovered at the scene.
The body has since been brought out of the area. A post-mortem examination is to be conducted.
The Police are on the hunt for the two suspects, who have not been named, but the Force is appealing to anyone with information that could assist its probe to contact the nearest Police station.
Investigations are continuing.
