Three time Soca Monarch and six time Road March King Adrian Dutchin is nursing a broken right index finger but that is not stopping him from performing on the stage.
The Guyanese soca star told News Source that he was performing alongside reigning soca King Jumo when a dancing fan lost her balance on the stage. Dutchin said he rushed to the woman’s rescue to break her fall but both of them ended up off the stage.
He said at first he thought everything was okay but a nagging pain in his right hand forced him to seek medical attention. It was then that it was discovered that he has sustained a broken finger. The finger has been placed in a cast and will remain there for the next three weeks. He said he is not allowing the incident nor the injury to hold him back and is already focusing on upcoming projects.
Among those projects is the release of several new tracks in time for the Barbados Crop over season which begins in June. He also intends to complete a studio remix of his hit song “Jook” with Barbados soca star, Lil Rick.
As for the Carib Soca Monarch competition, Dutchin said he might not be ready to turn his back on the competition as yet. He has won the competition more than any other singer but admits that the competition calls for a lot of hard work and dedication. He said a whole lot has been going on for him career wise and he is thankful for the many opportunities being presented to him.
