Despite the rising number of positive COVID-19 cases, the national COVID-19 health regulations remain mostly unchanged.

167 COVID-19 Deaths recorded in September

Six more persons have lost their lives to COVID-19 complications, the Ministry of Health announced today. Five of the six persons died yesterday.

There were 167 deaths recorded in September and a total of 6,279 new cases.  More than 3500 cases remain active.

Despite the rising number of positive COVID-19 cases, the national COVID-19 health regulations remain mostly unchanged.

The regulations which were published in the official gazette, have been mostly unchanged for the months with only the vaccination requirements being added.

The curfew will remain from 10:30 p.m to 4:00 am, although there were some calls for increased curfew hours.

Guyana is currently averaging over 200 COVID-19 cases per day and about 15 deaths per week.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, more than thirty-two thousand positive cases have been recorded.
