After initially entering a guilty plea to the $58 Million robbery at a Kitty gold trading company, GDF Sergeant Keon King changed his plea this afternoon, as the Magistrate was preparing to hand down a sentence.
During the afternoon appearance, King who was not represented by an Attorney told the Court that he was confused earlier and his mind was not clear when admitted to the crime.
He explained that he never attended Court before in his life and was unaware of how pleas work.
The Magistrate accepted his explanation and changed his plea to not guilty. He was remanded to jail until the 24th August when the matter will come up again.
King was charged along with two others with the robbery at the Gordon Street gold-trading company. All three of the accused have now entered not guilty pleas and they have all been remanded.
