Popular local singer and social media star, Lollita Callender aka “Lola Doll” was shot multiple times to her body outside her East Ruimveldt home on Saturday night as she was parking her car in the driveway.

Persons in the area said the incident took place just after 11pm. Multiple gunshots were heard and when neigbours and family members rushed outside, Callender was seen slumped in her car and badly bleeding. Family members said she was just arriving home when she came under attack.

Two relatives said they jumped into the car and drove it with the injured woman to the Georgetown Hospital where she was rushed into the emergency room in a critical condition. The Police in a statement said the singer was shot to the neck, face, hands and right leg.

Investigators are already reviewing surveillance video recordings from a number of CCTV cameras in the area. One neighbour said some of the footage revealed a lone gunman approaching Callendar’s car as she was parking and opening fire before escaping on a motorcycle that was parked to the back of where she lived.

Investigators have not determined a motive behind the incident, but the probe is ongoing.
