Man accused of stabbing girlfriend and dumping her body surrenders to Police

The man who reportedly of stabbed his 31-year-old girlfriend repeatedly then dumped her body along Carmichael Street, Georgetown on Monday, has turned himself over to police.

He was identified as 55 – year – old Allan Sim from Paradise, East Coast Demerara.

Sim along with his Attorney walked into the Alberttown Police Station on Wednesday morning where he was detained and is expected to be placed before the Court later this week.

It is not clear whether he has admitted to the crime. The woman who worked at the Georgetown Hospital as a dispatcher, died late Monday night from a number of stab wounds that were inflicted by Sim.

Sim and the woman, identified as Melissa Skeete, had shared a relationship.

Initial reports state that she was picked up after a day of work at the Georgetown hospital just after 3:00pm by the man and was repeatedly stabbed in the vehicle along Carmichael Street.

She was reportedly pushed out of the car and the man sped away from the scene as she cried out for help. Several persons who heard her cry, rushed to her aid and took her to the Georgetown Hospital where she eventually succumbed to the injuries.
