A 24-year-old man who was caught red-handed selling marijuana in the Kuru Kururu area is in Police custody and is expected to face charges soon. 

Police ranks were in the area on Tuesday afternoon when the man was observed collecting money from various persons and handing them a small bag from a large black plastic bag which was concealed in a PVC pipe that was affixed to an old wooden building.  

The Police in a statement said the ranks observed his actions for fifteen minutes as he continued his sales.

The man was eventually confronted by the Police ranks who found the black bag with small packets of marijuana in his possession and just over $55,000 cash in his pocket. 

The man who is believed to be originally from Linden, was arrested and escorted to the Timehri Police station where the suspected narcotic was weighed in his presence and it amounted to 140 grams.

He is expected to face drug trafficking charges soon.
