Two additional COVID-19 deaths and 64 new cases

The Ministry of Health has announced that the country has also recorded 64 new cases in the past 24 hours. 54 of the 64 new cases are from Region 4 which continues to see a spike in new cases.

Two additional COVID-19 deaths and 64 new cases

The coronavirus pandemic in Guyana claimed two more lives today, taking the total number of deaths to 134.  The latest victims have been identified as a 56-year-old man from Region One and a 58-year-old man from Region 4.

The Ministry of Health has announced that the country has also recorded 64 new cases in the past 24 hours.  54 of the 64 new cases are from Region 4 which continues to see a spike in new cases.

The indigenous village of St. Cuthbert’s Mission in Region 4 is expected to go on a full lockdown this weekend after 58 new cases of the virus were recorded in that village in the past week.

This evening there are still 11 persons in the Coronavirus ICU and more than 700 positive cases in home isolation.
