A 24-year-old Warlock, East Ruimveldt man was gunned down in front of his shop on Wednesday morning.
Dead is Sherwin Barrow. The incident took place just after 8:30am. Residents in the area heard loud gunfire and saw Barrow lying on the ground just after. He was rushed to the Georgetown Hospital where he died as doctors battled to save his life.
News Source understands that two men are being sought in connection with the murder.
There are reports that Barrow was fingered in another shooting incident a few months ago and was believed to be behind the shooting of a man from the same community over a disagreement. That man survived that shooting incident but it is unclear whether he is one of the two men who were arrested.
Some persons in the community said they were forced to run for cover and hide in their homes after the rapid gunfire was heard. One resident said at least 10 shots were heard and persons were seen running from the area just after the incident.
Family members of the dead man gathered at the hospital and were hoping that he would have been able to survive the gunshot injuries. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
