With their hands cuffed together, two young brothers made their way into Court this morning to face larceny charges, in relation to the theft of several items from the Marriott Hotel.
20-year-old, Adrian Foster and 19-year-old, Andre Foster, appeared before Principal Magistrate, Judy Latchman and both entered a plea of not guilty to the offense of larceny.
The charge stated that between the 1st and 30th November, 2017, they broke into and entered the bond of the Guyana Marriott Hotel and stole items valued at over $600,000.
The items included solar panels, flood lamps and LED lights.
Attorney Adrian Thompson, represented both men and requested that they be granted reasonable bail.
Police Prosecutor, Arvin Moore had no objections to the bail request but stated that on the 24th December a report was made, after it was discovered that the items were missing.
An investigation was launched and the brothers were arrested after they posted the items for sale on social media.
The two men were tracked down and all of the stolen items were found at their home. Their mother handed them over to the Criminal Investigations Department after learning of the accusations.
Bail was granted in the sum of $150,000 each and the two will make their next Court appearance on February 7, 2018.
