Three months after the gunning down of footballer, Paul Daniels, the alleged assailant appeared in court and was hit with the indictable murder charge.

Costello Housing Scheme resident, Alvin Jones aka “Hot Skull”, was not required to enter a plea to the indictable murder charge as he appeared in court today.

It is alleged that the 25-year-old shot and killed the Albouystown resident after robbing him of his gold chain.

The incident took place on the 2nd February at Independence Boulevard.

Daniels was at his girlfriend’s house, when two armed men entered the house and relieved him of his gold chain and a sum of cash.

As they were making their escape, Daniels attempted to chase after them, but he was shot to the chest. At first, the girlfriend thought it was all a prank, but reality sank in as Daniels fell to the ground. He was rushed to the hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
