As road deaths continue to haunt the country, a 71-year-old resident of Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara became one of the country’s latest road accident victims, pushing the total number of road deaths for the year to over 140.
The dead man has been identified as Beersain Udho.
A police report explained the 71-year-old man was riding his motorcycle along the Zeeland Public Road this morning, when a car being driven by a 63-year-old man made a sudden turn in front of him, resulting in him slamming into the car.
The elderly man fell onto the roadway and suffered a number of injuries. He was rushed to the Mahaicony Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the car has been taken into custody for questioning.
